Choosing sofas & lounges in Brisbane
Compare each sofa's seats, upholstery and measurements with your room and the route into it. Secondhand fabric sofas are steam cleaned and checked; leather sofas are cleaned and checked. Visit the Underwood showroom to inspect a piece in person.
Before you buy
- Measure the full width and depth, the narrowest doorway and any turns between the entrance and your room.
- For a chaise, check which side it is on. For a recliner, allow room for the seat to extend and check whether it needs power.
- Read the condition notes and look closely at upholstery, cushions and visible marks. Confirm exactly which pieces are included in a sofa set.

Questions before choosing sofas & lounges
- Is the price for one sofa or the whole set?
- Use the particular listing's description and included-pieces list. A 3+2 configuration describes two sofas with five seats in total; the price and pieces included must still be confirmed by that listing.
- Can a chaise or recliner suit my layout?
- Check the stated chaise side, photographs and measurements. Do not assume a chaise is reversible. Recliners need room to extend, and electric models need the appropriate power connection.
- How do I check delivery access?
- Measure each piece and the narrowest part of the entire access route, including doorways, turns and lifts. A sofa fitting in your lounge room does not establish that it can get through your entrance.
Buying secondhand? We do not accept returns or exchanges of secondhand furniture or whitegoods for change of mind. Secondhand furniture, excluding whitegoods, has no voluntary store warranty. Your consumer rights still apply.
